Social Studies Dramatizations

Our current Social Studies unit was about the diverse people of the west. The class made dramatizations to share with the class. We were assigned groups and different people that were going west in the 1800s such as the Mexicanos, Nez Perce, the Pioneers, the 49ers, Chinese Immigrants, and the Mormons. Each person in the group was assigned a part in the dramatization: Historian, Director, Host, and Set Designer. The group would call up at least 4 people from the audience to be a part of the play. An example is the 49ers used a sluice (sloo) to mine gold. The dramatization group that was the 49ers acted out mining gold with the sluice (sloo).
