Building Houses

Last week we were making houses in science class.  We needed to make circuits to light our house.  The materials we used were: cardboard, light bulbs, light bulb holders, batteries, battery holders, wire, and switches.  The switches were made out of a paper clip, two brass fasteners, two wire clips, and a note card.

After we put in the lighting, we could bring in props from home or make props out of cardboard.  Here are some of the props we brought in: Lego stuff, plastic tables, chairs, beds, food, chandeliers, and pets.

When we were all done with our houses, the whole school came to our room to look at them.

Below are some pictures of us working on our houses, as well as the finished products.

Pancake Day

On Wednesday at Lincoln Elementary School we had Pancake Day in honor of Abraham Lincoln's birthday.  We had groups that went to the gym for pancakes.  When the classes got to the gym, they went to their assigned tables.  Parent volunteers helped children make pancakes.  :)  When we finished making the pancakes, we ate them with butter and maple syrup.  We could have milk to drink.  Happy Birthday Lincoln!

Reminders:

Bring Valentines on Friday for our class parties tomorrow.
Also, tomorrow is Lincoln Skate Night from 6:00-8:00 p.m.  Admission is $8.00 and pizza slices are $2.00.

Below are some pictures from Pancake Day.

Sincerely,
